NEW APACHE CLEO MIX: WE RUN CAIRO

It's been a while but we're here. We threw down at Tripple Crown a couple weeks ago. It says a lot when you play to an empty room but still kill it. Also, we blew the speakers. We have been staying on top of our music but planning and education have proven distracting however, We did commit to coming back with something solidifying and personal. Here it is. Our sound is congealing.

Disruption has been killing it on the production end. The man has been re-editing, dj-ing and, producing original tracks like mad. He has offered us two recent results of his labour: "There Will Be Blood" & "Plastic". Both are synth/bass heavy with some solid programming on the drums. Heady yet accessible, their simple yet dynamic sound (yes, they move) make for great songs to build upto in the set, and I can't wait to drop some acapellas on them myself. Check them out and show some love to our southern ally. We're working on bringing him up soon, so you can shake it to this live...Download

Amici 'N' Famiglia

Apache Cleo just got back from this year's Friends 'N' Family, and are still grinning from ear to ear. We are very proud to have been a part of such a great celebration of music and people. We would like to take a moment to thank everyone who took part in this past weekends events. All of the support and feedback was unexpected and amazing.
To the organizers, thank you for your planning and attention to details. Everything went off smoothly and comfortably. From top to bottom, thanks. To our fellow djs/performers, thank you for keeping the energy up and chill (when needed). We are proud to have performed with you all. Thank you to the sound crew for the best sound we have been able to achieve and relative calm with setting up.
Lastly, we would like to send a special thank you to Amanda, Matty (mossmoss) and, Nicky for allowing us to take up loads of space in your car and cooler and, delivering us safely in time to set up...then back home again. You three are fun, awesome people and, we're so happy to have met you!
Thank you.

Approx. two weeks ago there was a party in everyone's favourite basement, LiPo Lounge in Chinatown. The decor and lighting was the best I had personally seen down there and the sound was thick and rich, like me. The lineup included sets by Bear Trap Mind, PFang, Ghosts On Tape and, Ben Thompson.
Ben was gracious enough to send a copy of his set. It's got a great flow and sounds kickin'.

Thunda from Down Unda!
There are moments when music hits you that evokes latent memories of say, a night you may have spent in a backyard well after midnight. Moon full, music leaking out of two 4-inch speakers, veiled in a hissed compression of a well-worn cassette tape. Tame Impala has struck that chord for this listener and, I would be remiss were I not to share this with others. Please check them out at your leisure.
